…my last name is pronounced “mar.” Derived from an Irish word meaning “hospitable”, it’s the un-anglicized equivalent of Maher (as in Bill).
I’m an undergrad at the University of Washington, studying computer science. I’ve worked as a web developer at the UW Clinical Trial Center and as an undergrad research assistant on a distributed computing project. I’m currently spending the summer interning at Google, working on Maps.
In addition to writing code and reading stuff on Hacker News, I play drums, cook, drink a lot of tea, and listen to copious amounts of music.
